Durban all set for the 2013 Airshow
The upcoming Durban Airshow looks to have a program not to be missed! The July 13 event to be held at Virginia Airport looks set to light up the skies of Durban.
Booked for the event is a Boeing 737-200 which will do a 15 minute aerial display - no mean feat for an aircraft this size. Also on show will be a race between a Plane and a Mini Cooper car.
Other interesting aircraft on show will be the JS-1 Glider, specially designed business planes, the Phenom 300, CT4, and Elipse 500 as well as a hovercraft display.
The Durban Airshow is the second oldest airshow in the world, with something for everyone to enjoy. From aviation enthusiasts, to adrenalin seekers it will be fun for the whole family.
Not only will there be fly overs and acrobatics, but children will be enticed by smaller planes, and lots of business jets on show.
Entertainment will also include activities for children and food vendors who will keep the kids fully fed. It will be fun for the whole family - says the shows organisers.
Prices for Adults are R100 and Children R50 with families of 5 admitted for R290.
During this time, car rental in and around Durban can be in high demand. If you are looking to hire a car from King Shaka Airport or Durban city centre please contact our Durban Car Rental travel desk for more information.
Parking is also available on Ypsilanti Ave (South of Virginia Airport) or spectators are welcome to park on the roads leading off Virginia Circle, including Norrie Avenue, Mackeurtan Avenue, Hinton Avenue, Margaret Maytom Avenue, Danville Avenue and Kentucky Drive.
